Inna Politseymako pulled together a roundtable discussion about Web 2.0 last week at Cisco. I participated along with Matt Mullenweg (Automattic Founder), John Toebes (Cisco) and Daniel Wedge (IBM).

We spoke about the history and direction of Web 2.0, how it’s morphed into Enterprise 2.0 and why we believe it will continue to drive innovation for consumers and businesses. I don’t think we covered any new ground in our discussion, but I think it’s important to note that large enterprises are re-thinkng about how the evolution of the web impacts their internal culture as well as how they do business. Matt said it best when he stated that the trick with Web 2.0 was “to go to the technology” - a simple idea but one that is hard to do.

I’m interested to hear your thoughts on how Web 2.0 impacts the enterprise.

The name missing in this article is Craig Tobias. Mr. Tobias has been responsible for developing a number of Cisco’s internal Web 2.0 applications and is currently working on Cisco’s customer support wiki.

I recently heard Craig Tobias speak at a conference. If you get the oppertunity to see him speak on Web 2.0 don’t miss it.

Got something to say?
